"Worst experience ever in Ward G2"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Gynaecology

I was transferred to this hospital by ambulance few months ago. I was having a miscarriage and had a heavy bleeding. The nurses in reception were joking together instead of assist me immediately, they even asked me to walk on my own to the room when i was layed and full of blood.

Had to wait a long time to be seen by a doctor and after that had to wait 6 more hours to have a scan and make sure if i miscarried or not. They left me unattented for hours alone in a cold room. Had to walk myself to the toilet without assistance when i could barely move. I was full of blood and in paid felt so humiliated.

The doctor brought a student to attend while they were cleaning me from clots, i've been never asked if i was agreed to have a student in the room while i was getting checked. The doctor didn't seem to sympathise with my situation. The doctor was also in a rush to see another patient, the doctor announced me of the miscarriage like it wasn't of any importance. Didn't actually receive any help or support from staff neither any advice on what i should do from then on. Only the nurse in charge seemed to care and explained me the whole miscarriage thing the nurse also offered me something to eat and to drink. I asked for a doctor's note which they said i would have but then the doctor disappeared they phoned them only to say that they forgot and i could complete a self certification instead. It was the worst experience i ever had in a hospital. Staff's behavior left me speechless and made me feel even worse about my situation. Not to mention that a week ago i insisted to book me a scan appointment cause i was lightly bleeding only to be said that it wasnt something to worry about. They didnt give the necessary importance back then either. I dont discourage anyone to use the service of this ward it is just a personal bad experience that had the need to share as i wasnt satisfied.
