About: Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

A neighbour of our has recently come out of hospital and she lives alone, She has patches to attach to her back which she can't do, I phoned the district nurse from Widnes district nurse team who told me that they don't do home visits and couldn't I do it, I told I could  but wouldn't be comfortable doing it

We are very sorry to hear our your neighbour’s problem and the attitude of the member of staff you spoke to. We would usually receive a referral from the hospital for patients needing clinical district nursing help although this may not mean that we visit their home. If a patient is housebound then home visits are made, however if they are mobile we would ask them to visit our treatment rooms, we have several in the area. If you or your neighbour would like to discuss this further then please contact our Patient Services team on 0800 587 0562.

Hi thanks for the reply, although the person is not house bound she is to fragile to go out, but the problem being the patches she's using she can't possibly change them herself, she can't my reach, being house bound isn't the point as I explained to the nurses she lives alone and needs help, regards
