Having had a trauma and feeling at crisis point, I came in to see Dr Yeoman with a somewhat pessimistic expectation. It took one appointment to entirely reverse the stress, crisis and distress. I was allowed to engage honestly, without the constraints of trying to skip around sketchy areas. He was a truly phenomenal Psychiatrist, who absolutely turned my thinking and emotion in the opposite direction. He engaged on my terms, he clarified where the problem was and what I could do to protect myself and my wellbeing. He was a pleasure to have, it's a rare experience for me to come away from such an appointment positive. But it's much more than that, he revolutionized my view of the situations creating stress and showed me where I could move forward with the least harm induced.
I now feel there is a light, and he switched it on for me. People like this in this career are rare, few and far between. I hope the Trust and the staff pass on my experience and at minimum compliment him for what I regard as an impossible job with endless impositions tying them down. Yet somehow we engaged, and I listened. I cannot express in words what I experienced as they simply don't have the capacity to do him justice. I hope Dr Yeoman remains with St Mary's for many years to come. I very much doubt you could find a replacement, he's unique and effective, personable and approachable. For the first time I opened up entirely and was able to deal with the problems while he guided me to the solutions. This man is almost certainly responsible for saving endless lives and easing a crisis or distress. As I said, words cannot do him justice: ) x
