Was there for a procedure a week ago. The nurse who put the canulla did not practice any hand hygine standards. They had gloves on but went and picked things they had dropped on the floor, did not change the gloves, then they put the canulla in and blood squirted all over my bag, they did not even put a protective inco-sheet. They just said sorry and wiped off the blood.
It's such a shame, the consultants are excellent but the nurses exploit the staff shortage in the NHS and don't have a patient centric approach. It's a job for life attitude with the nursing staff. On a previous occasion a nurse told me they has a back pain, so I have to manage on my own. Wonder if this is bank staff?
