"Communication please"

About: Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

I have been a patient at the service since May. I am currently trying to speak with a medical professional regarding some tests I am having this coming Wednesday. I have phoned and keep getting passed around the switch board from department to department with the usual 'oh I won't be able to help you with that!' Or they seemed shocked i have the cheek to actually ask to speak to a member of my care team. So how does one actually speak to their consultant outside of appointment times? Considering this is a cardiac issue I expected a lot more understanding rather than judgement.
