"Very unhelpful"

About: April House

(as a service user),

Though I was seen pretty timely they were very unhelpful in the end. Got offered CBT but basically just sat in a room and told to eat regularly and stop bingeing. They didn't help at all, just went over a food diary and thats about it. Very fustrated. When I expressed concern was told that I wasn't ready for therapy, and I felt the person I saw didn't care if I stopped bingeing and purging or not.

Don't know where to go now as I have tried private therapy. I don't have any other options.

Firstly, I would like to thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about our service at April House. We are sorry that our service was unhelpful for you.

Psychological therapy can at times be difficult to engage with, as it involves making changes that are challenging.

If your symptoms are still persisting then we would suggest you make contact with your GP to discuss further.

If you would like to discuss this further please contact the Customer Experience Team on 023 8087 4065 or by e-mail hp-tr.customerexperience@nhs.net in order for us to look into this for you.

Kind regards

Customer Experience
