"MRI Appointment Desk Misery"

About: Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust

(as a service user),

Tried in vain to get through to the MRI appointments team and no luck so far. When actually I did get through someone just put the phone down on me. Extremely rude!

After that an automatic telephone message became activated stating that the office will open at 9:00am. The time on the clock before I gave up was 10;01am

I am really sorry you had difficulty getting through to our MR appointments team.

It is a very busy line due to the high demand for MRI scans. However staff are fully aware they must be polite and courteous at all times. We have discussed your comments directly with the booking team, reminding them how important it is answer the phone promptly and create a good first impression. In the future, to improve our phone answering service, we intend to implement a more up to date telephone system which will advise the caller where they are in the queue.
