'The Recovery College' is a true lifesaver! I've been going to Recovery College courses for about four years now. There's always a friendly welcome, and the course content is fantastic. The College really listens to it's users, and adapts and develops it's courses to suit their needs. The peer-run element is a major draw for people, as it ensures a real conversation between trainers and service users - they're not 'lectures', they're group meetings. I've made many good friends through the college, and trainers like Carla make a real difference to lives! I've learnt so much - the college has been a major part of my mental health recovery journey, I'd feel lost without the community it gives. Many people at the college, myself included, rarely leave their homes, and the classes are a lifeline to them - a chance to see and speak to fellow humans, and learn more about managing and coping with their mental health difficulties. I cannot praise The Recovery College enough - I believe it is a VITAL service, that SAVES LIVES!!
