"Grateful for mum-in-law's care"

About: Poole General Hospital / General medicine South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / NHS 111

(as a service user),

My ninty year old mum in-law started on this new insulin on the Tuesday but her sugar levels kept going up. Saturday morning was so high I called 111 a Dr Jackson called me back to say we could have a 2.30 afternoon appointment at Poole hospital in the red clinic when we arrived a lovely young lady in reception was so incredibly kind we didn't have long to wait when Dr Nyman came to bring us into his consulting room he is the most charming man, he reassured mum discussed her medicine and she fairly skipped out of the room. Thank you again a grateful daughter in-law.

Dear Ms Brooks

I am very sorry that you found the reception and toilet areas within the Cardiology Department to be unsatisfactory.

I will report this to the company who are responsible for our cleaning immediately and ask them to thoroughly clean the area and monitor it's cleanliness carefully in future.

We have a thorough programme of monitoring cleanliness across the hospital but this area seems to have been missed, for which I apologise sincerely.

On a more positive note, I am very pleased to hear that you found all the staff to be very pleasant, helpful and caring.

I hope that if you need to return to the department, you will find the surroundings to be cleaned to a higher standard.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Kind regards,

Patient Experience Team, Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Dear Glam,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story and I hope your mum-in-law is recovering well.

It is always rewarding to hear stories of how our staff are delivering care and support to patients and those around them when they need it most.

We would be happy to share your story with the ambulance staff involved in this instance, however, to do so we will need some specific information. If you would like us to do this, please may I ask you to contact us on either plaudits@swast.nhs.uk or 01392 453 831 and a member of the Patient Engagement Team will be happy to help you further.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to provide us with feedback.

Kind regards,

Sharifa
