I was admitted to the CCU at Blackpool Victoria on 16/9 by Ambulance from the Lancaster Infirmary. I spent 4 nights in the CCU and was then moved to Ward 37 Bay 2D for the next 3 weeks of my hospitalisation. Discharge date 10/10/17.
My reason for writing is that I cannot praise the Hospital high enough for its dedication to my care and wellbeing to thus ensure my treatment and Procedures were of the highest possible standards.
Please thank one doctor for their overview and personal attention to my VT condition. One doctor deserves praise for speaking to me very directly about the way forward re the treatment options available to me and for 'guiding' me to the right decision. One doctor for their approach to my ICD fitting and the work they undertook.
Needless to say every member of Staff including Doctors, Registrars, all the Nursing Staff and Cleaners played their part in my recovery. Everyone was cheerful and enjoyed their various roles. I cannot thank and praise the Staff of CCU and Ward 37 high enough.
There are two members of staff however that I would particularly like to mention.
A registrar for their kindness, constant reassurance and advices in respect of my situation and ongoing health and
a junior doctor who couldn't have done more to give me reassurance on the morning of what was the worst night of my life on 20/9 after bleeding from my penis due to the use of Heparin. They subsequently continued to overview my patient care throughout in Ward 37 and I'm very grateful to them.
Both of them are excellent Staff members that help make your 5* Hospital what it is. Please may I ask you to forward on my Email to both of them, the Doctors and also the Staff in CCU and Ward 37.
Well done to all of you and thank you from a grateful patient.
Yours sincerely
Ian Pinkerton
