"My treatment"

About: Alexandra Hospital / Accident and emergency West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I was brought into A&E Redditch by ambulance.

I had suffered a fall in my bathroom, felt very faint and was unable to stand for about 10 minutes.   My wife called for an ambulance.  They attended very quickly and after a series of extensive tests determined I should be taken to Redditch hospital.  I am 70 years old, had a lobectomy in early 2016, and have a long history of pneumonia.

At the hospital I was seen very quickly and transferred to a private examination room.  After prep by the nurses, I was seen by Dr Emily (didn't get her family name) and by Dr Coloka ? (sorry didn't get his name correctly - he was the South African doctor on duty this morning).

They repeated all tests undertaken by the paramedic and also did an ECG.  Apart from an abnormal heart rate and low blood pressure, they couldn't find anything of significance.  I was discharged at about midday.

I would like to express my appreciation for the outstanding treatment I received in A&E and to say a sincere thank you to both doctors.
