"They put both my husband and myself at our ease"

About: Kingston Hospital / Accident and emergency London Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as a relative),

I thought that my husband was having a heart attack and called the 111 emergency service who in turn dispatched an ambulance to our home in Hartley arriving at approx 4. 30 ish.

The two paramedics that arrived were so efficient immediately checking my husband over and establishing that the chest pains needed to be looked into further, they were very knowledgeable  and put both my husband and myself at our ease.  When we arrived at the hospital we were taken straight into the emergency care unit and would not leave us until my husband had been seen for an initial examination and we were then taken to the ACU room to await further tests, at this point the paramedics departed leaving us in the care of the staff at this unit.

The tests and care my husband received here was second to none and after several blood tests, xrays etc we were given the great news that he had not had a heart attack but did have a severe chest infection which was left over from the flu bug we both had before Christmas and required a stronger antibiotic with a follow up appointment in 7 days time.

I can't speak highly enough about the care my husband received during the 3 to 4 hours he was in the care of the excellent Ambulance Crew and Staff at the hospital and would like to thank everyone concerned.
