My husband recently had a stay on ward 1 the RAFA unit (Rapid Access Frailty Unit)
I feel so very lucky that we had access to such a brilliant Unit.
All the services that we needed to were there in one place. I had immediate support from a Social worker, a Physio and Psychologist. What a difference that made.
The nursing and care staff were great too, so gentle and caring - I wish I could remember all their names - and although the staff changed during the stay the chart above the bed meant I always knew who was looking after him. Little things like that do make a difference.
Everyone connected with the ward should be congratulated on the service they provded including the lady that dished up the meals!
Unfortunately a week after leaving hospital he was taken ill again and died, but I still wanted to say thank you all so much to the staff of ward 1
Thank you all so much.
