"St Georges"

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I went for an early pregnancy scan at the EPU, Lanesborough Wing. Met by a terrifically rude and surly receptionist who seemed to spend more time obtaining drinks and wondering around the shop floor than dealing with clients, i.e. pregnant women, some of whom were scared and vulnerable. I was one of them.

I was treated as a nuisance. When I tried to change the phone number I had provided, they actually threw her hands up in the air and looked at their colleague.

I am afraid I was quite disgusted with this person and will be making a formal complaint.

The rest of the EPU were fantastic - shame on this person.

Dear pleasebepolite

I apologise for the long delay in responding to your post about the poor attitude of the receptionist in the EPU.

If your concerns remain unresolved then please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service PALS@stgeorges.nhs.uk who can arrange for you to be contacted to discuss your concerns in person if you have not done so already.

With kind regards,

Sarah Duncan

Patient Experience Manager
