I was recently admitted for TAH and BSO. I was quite anxious running up to my operation but from the moment i arrived at the TAU i was put at ease.
Everyone was so kind and reassuring and explained everything that was about to happen. My surgeons and the anethetist came to talk to me to make sure i understood what was happening. Waiting to be called down after all the pre checks were done was quite a worry knowing it wouldnt be long, but i was soon put at ease again by the person who chatted whilst we walked down to theatre. I actually cant believe how calm i felt before being put to sleep.
Before i knew it i was waking up in recovery and later moved to the ward.
(although dont remember much about the time inbetween) The ward was very clean and staff very friendly and lthough very busy were always available if i needed them.
The fact they were very busy did however make you feel you didnt want to bother them too much
Thank you so much to everyone involved in my surgery and recovery both in the TAU and on the ward.
The surgeons, the theatre staff, reception/admin and nursing staff and any other support staff.
